The current computed radiography (CR) system is being upgraded to a digital radiology (DR) system. Managed by Phillips Medical, the full replacement of the hospital’s imaging equipment is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Once in place, the DR system will allow for lower radiation dosage, improved image quality and quicker examination turnaround time for patients, as well as improved functionality and ease of movement for imaging technologists.
During the build, the Imaging Department will be operating in a limited capacity. Delay in bookings for non-urgent/routine referrals can be expected. Clinics may also be impacted. Referrers have been invited to advise their patients accordingly.
