If it is urgent, call 111 or come into the Emergency Department at Wairarapa Hospital

Yes, we have made some changes right now to our orthopaedic service, but if you are injured and need urgent care our ED is here!

We are taking referrals and assessing people just as we always do.

If you are injured and need urgent care, come into Wairarapa Hospital ED just as you would normally do and our great team will assess you and make a care plan for you. If you need treatment for a fracture, you may need to travel to another hospital close by. We will assist you through that process.

How you get there will depend on your clinical need, and your convenience. You may prefer to arrange to travel there yourself and, if that's the case, we will help with the cost of your trip. Or, we might transport you there. We will discuss all that with you at the time.

The important bit is that if you need urgent care, our ED is here.
