Sometimes, its a quick vaccination. Sometimes, there's a conversation to be had first.
We understand that people have different needs and different questions, and that is why our Tekau Mā Iwa vaccination team are making room for good korero.

At McJorrow park on 3rd October the BBQ sizzled, the whānau played touch in the field and mellow music set the scene. It was time to talk about health.

Part of that conversation, was Covid-19 and how we can best protect our whānau.

It is important that when we engage with people, we allow the time to do it properly. Rich korero is the key to encouraging and embedding good healthy choices, and we are grateful for the opportunity to talk with kaumatua and whānau.

Harry Tam understands the value of connecting communities and welcomed the invitation to come along to McJorrow Park and help spread the Covid vaccination message. He is pictured below (bottom right) with Jake Carlson, Tekau Mā Iwa vaccination team lead, and some of the vaccination staff.

Harry's key message?

"Vaccinate. Do it as soon as you can. It is our best way to protect whānau."
