With Wairarapa now at 95% first doses and our Māori community over 90%, the Prezzy Card initiative is coming to an end.
A controversial but successful prod for those that had not 'got around to it yet' the initiative was worth the angst, with our Wairarapa population now all the more protected, and able to operate more safely with more freedoms under the traffic light settings.
It is fair to say not everyone agreed with the DHB's approach, but it worked. A leap in vaccinations meant Wairarapa was the first rural DHB to make the target.
There are no plans afoot to provide similar incentives for booster doses.
