We have great opportunities at Wairarapa DHB - a new hospital that opened its door in 2006, a wide variety of roles, a focus on individual and professional development, and great lifestyle opportunities.  We feel really lucky that we have a cohesive and friendly workforce from all over the world, all focused on our vision of a 'Well Wairarapa'.

 

The Wairarapa has a deserved reputation for being innovative in the way we meet the health needs of our population.  We value evidence-based approaches and welcome new ideas that enhance the way we work together. Increasingly, we are working with our neighbouring DHBs in the lower North Island in the form of joint appointments, clinical alliances, regional service planning and shared services, where these improve services for patients and help us manage cost.

 

We are also interested in finding new and innovative ways of working with you, and are active participants in the national initiative of the 21 DHBs to explore different ways of working with you (employment relations). CEO Tracey Adamson keenly supports this approach.

 

While Wairarapa DHB is the largest health employer in the region, career options span the full range of primary and secondary health care. There is growing recognition that improving the determinants of health improves health outcomes, so you may find yourself working with many non-traditional partners!
