Hutt Valley District Health Board (HVDHB) and Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) have agreed to contract Access Homehealth to be the provider of Home and Community Support Services (HCSS) for people over 65 years of age across the Hutt Valley and Greater Wellington region from 1 September 2016.

These services are currently provided by Access Homehealth and Enliven in the CCDHB, and Access Homehealth, Enliven and Healthcare NZ in the HVDHB. Enliven and Healthcare NZ will be transferring their clients to Access Homehealth from 1September, or earlier by mutual agreement.

Wherever possible the support worker delivering Home and Community Support Services will not change, and there will
be no immediate changes to the level of support delivered to clients. Client’s needs will continue to be assessed and support will be provided to meet those needs.

Most clients funded by the Capital & Coast or Hutt Valley DHBs will transfer to Access.

ACC funded clients and Ministry of Health (MoH) funded clients are not transferring to Access; these will continue to receive services from HCNZ or Enliven as currently. Similarly the small number of DHB clients who are generally under 65 years of age receiving support for chronic health conditions will not transfer. Support workers who deliver services to DHB clients for HCNZ or Enliven will have the option to transfer their employment to Access on their existing terms and conditions.
