Wairarapa DHB’s nurses and healthcare assistants who are participating members of the NZ Nurses Organisation (NZNO) will strike from 11am to 7pm tomorrow, Wednesday 9 June.
Hospital services will be significantly reduced during this time, so please save ED for emergencies.

As always, call 111 if it is an emergency. If it’s not urgent, contact your medical centre, ask for advice at a pharmacy, or call Healthline for free medical advice on 0800 611 116.

What plans are in place?

Wairarapa DHB’s number one priority is patient safety, and a lot of time has gone into hospital and community nursing planning to ensure our hospital can continue to provide acute care and emergency services during the strike action. All appointments that are affected have been discussed with the patients, and rebooking plans are in place.

Visiting instructions

To ease pressure during the strike, family members and friends are asked to spread their visits throughout the day if possible.
